Assessment of President Duterte’s 2nd SONA:
“Meron naman maski papaano direction sa sinabi niya. Kasi pag binanggit niya sa SONA, necessarily yan na parang direction ng bansa natin sa susunod na taon. So nakita natin doon binanggit niya tuloy-tuloy ang pag-address ng illegal drugs at ibang issues, tulad ng tax reform package. Pero hindi ganoon kadali lang pag narinig natin, pikit-mata susundan natin. Pag-aaralan natin bilang mambabatas. Nasa amin ang mga priority sa legislation, titingnan din naming kung nararapat ba suportahan in toto or with revisions.”

On the passage of the death penalty bill in the Senate:
“Isa ako sa mga authors pero sa nakikita ko sa composition ng Senado, of course pasado na sa House of Representatives, parang mahirap makakuha ng mayorya ang Senado para masuportahan ang death penalty bill… Sa pakikipagusap ko sa karamihan sa kanila mukhang mahirap mailusot in spite of the encouragement mentioned by the president.”
