At the CA COMMITTEE HEARING:

At the CA committee hearing earlier, Sen. Lacson assured the AFP the Senate Defense Committee which he chairs will address the Defense Procurement Bill. “I assure you we will address that in due time.”

Sen. Lacson also urged AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Gilbert Gapay to address the problem of possible graft and corruption attendant to the bidding process, adding this has occurred “even before this administration.”

I just hope under your watch and you will stay there up to February unless extended, and I hope you will be extended because you seem very fit and qualified to handle the job. So I just hope you will also address that particular issue or problem, yung issue of corruption attendant sa procurement process. We’re talking here of hundreds of billions of pesos and I just hope that you strictly look into this matter,” he said.
