
Former Senator Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson continues to gain strong support in the regions, placing second in the Cagayan Valley (Region II) MBC-DZRH pre-election survey conducted from March 8 to 10 for the 2025 senatorial elections.
The MBC-DZRH regional poll showed Lacson garnering 57.2% of voter preference, placing him among the top contenders in the 2025 senatorial race. The poll has a margin of error of +/-1.13%.
A long-time advocate of fiscal responsibility and transparency, Lacson has built his reputation on exposing anomalies in government spending and championing reforms that promote accountability.

“It is encouraging yet challenging at the same time,” Lacson, known for his no-nonsense stance against corruption, said in Filipino in an interview on DZRH. “Messaging is very important because this is the basis of how people perceive you.”
Lacson, who is running under the administration-backed “Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas” slate, has repeatedly emphasized his commitment to remaining independent and objective in the Senate.
Despite being part of the ruling party’s ticket, the former senator assured the public that he would continue to call out government missteps when necessary.
“If what they do is right, I will support them. But if what they do is wrong, I will call them out,” he said.
Meanwhile, nine out of twelve candidates under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s “Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas” dominated the Cagayan Valley pre-election survey.
ACT-CIS Rep. Erwin Tulfo (Alyansa) led the Region II survey with a commanding 62.3%, followed by Lacson (Alyansa) at 57.2%.
Former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III (Alyansa) ranked third with 52.0%, reelectionist Senator and presidential sister Imee Marcos (Alyansa) placed fourth at 47.3%, and Makati City Mayor Abby Binay (Alyansa) rounded out the top five with 41.5%.
Trailing the five candidates are reelectionist Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. (Alyansa) with 41.3%, TV host Bienvenido “Ben” Tulfo (Independent) with 41.2%, reelectionist Senator Christopher “Bong” Go (PDP-Laban) with 41.0%, reelectionist Senator Pilar Juliana “Pia” Cayetano (Alyansa) with 40.6%, former Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino (KNP) with 38.5%, Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar (Alyansa) with 38.1% and reelectionist Senator Manuel “Lito” Lapid (Alyansa) with 38.1%

Ping Lacson, Pumangalawa na sa Senatorial Survey sa Cagayan Valley
Patuloy na lumalakas si dating Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson sa mga probinsya, at pumangalawa na sa Cagayan Valley (Region II) ayon sa MBC-DZRH pre-election survey noong Marso 8-10 para sa 2025 senatorial elections.
Ayon sa MBC-DZRH regional poll na may error margin na +/-1.13%, nakamtan ni Lacson ang 57.2% ng voter preference.
Nakilala si Lacson sa pagbuking ng mga anomalya sa maling paggastos ng pera ng taumbayan, at sa pagsulong ng reporma para sa accountability.
“Nakaka-encourage, at the same time, nakaka-challenge din,” ani Lacson, na nakilala sa pagiging no-nonsense laban sa katiwalian, sa panayam sa DZRH. “Malaking porsyento nito ay nasa messaging. Perception ng tao ang pinag-uusapan.”
Ani Lacson, na tumatakbo sa Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate, na magiging “independent and objective” sa Senado. Aniya, hindi siya mag-aatubiling sitahin ang nakikita niyang maling gawain sa pamahalaan.
“Kung tama ang ginagawa, purihin at suportahan. Kung mali naman, i-point out o i-call out,” aniya.
Sa nasabing survey, siyam sa 12 kandidato sa ilalim ng Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas ang pasok sa Magic 12 sa Cagayan Valley pre-election survey.
Kinabibilangan nito si ACT-CIS Rep. Erwin Tulfo (Alyansa) na may 62.3%; Lacson na may 57.2%; dating Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III (52.0%); Imee Marcos (47.3%); Abby Binay (41.5%); Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. (41.3%); Bienvenido “Ben” Tulfo (41.2%); Christopher “Bong” Go (41.0%); Pilar Juliana “Pia” Cayetano (40.6%); Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino (38.5%); Rep. Camille Villar (38.1%); at Manuel “Lito” Lapid (38.1%).
