Ping Lacson to Voters: Cast Your Votes for Our Nation’s and Children’s Future

MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan – With less than a week to go before Election Day, independent senatorial candidate Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson on Wednesday evening appealed to voters to think of the future of the nation and the next generation in casting their votes for senators.

In his speech at the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate’s rally here, Lacson said that while there are four kinds of candidates, it is ultimately up to the voters to choose who they want to send to the Senate.

“The future of our nation, our future, our children, and future generations of Filipinos are in your hands,” he said in Filipino.

He noted there are four types of candidates for senator running in this year’s elections: those who will work hard and will not steal; those who will work hard but will steal; those who do will not work but will not steal; and those who will not work and will steal.

In the case of the Alyansa candidates, Lacson said all of them including himself have gained experience as public servants, including as lawmakers.

“It’s up to you who you will choose,” Lacson said.

Lacson received a warm welcome here, and congratulated the local government of Bulacan for its vibrant economy, with a Gross Domestic Product of P631.6 billion as of 2023.

He also said he is pursuing legislation to provide local government units with a “rebate” of their contributions to the national government’s tax collection – possibly 1% of their 12% Value-Added Tax collections that go to the national coffers.

The rebate would go to infrastructure and livelihood projects that will make the local economy grow further.

“Finance Sec. Ralph Recto is open to this idea. I hope this measure will become a law with the help of my colleagues, so LGUs can get a rebate and further grow their economies,” Lacson said.
