If his anti-corruption crusade is intimidating – or even rattling – the corrupt, then Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson must be doing something right and good for the country.
Lacson said this Tuesday amid claims by Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano that members of his minority bloc in the Senate were being threatened.

On Monday, Cayetano claimed it was “obvious” who was behind the threats against members of the minority bloc.
Cayetano cited as an example Lacson’s supposed pronouncement that the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte should be finished by December. Lacson has made no such pronouncement.
Lacson and his staff have formally submitted to the Office of the Ombudsman at least 45 case studies backed by official documents detailing “systemic anomalies” in flood control infrastructure projects.
The Office of the Ombudsman is now conducting a fact-finding investigation into the allegations involving the projects in Taguig.
Aside from this, Lacson and his team sent to the Ombudsman several pieces of evidence they have gathered so far on the illegal reclamation and infrastructure projects in Taguig City.
Last Sunday, Lacson said that at the pace the Ombudsman’s investigation is going, he would not be surprised if it would file charges against those concerned before this year ends.

“If my fight against corruption intimidates the corrupt, I must be doing something right and good for the country,” aniya sa isang post sa kanyang X account.
