Ping Lacson Bares Resume in Senatorial ‘Job Interview’

The 90-day senatorial campaign is like a long job interview where candidates present themselves to their potential bosses who should choose wisely, former Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson said Saturday.

“Senatorial candidates are like job applicants vying for 12 job vacancies available on June 30, 2025 in what could be the longest 90-day job interview. The Filipino people are the ‘HR’ who will vet and decide who to hire to work for them in the next 6 years. Choose wisely,” Lacson said in a post on X.

Ping Lacson’s Speech at Alyansa Rally in Iloilo

Maayong hapon, Iloilo!

Ping Lacson Helps Capas Local Officials’ Efforts to Boost Education Access

CAPAS, Tarlac – Former Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson on Wednesday helped local officials of this municipality to boost access to education by doing their part in the process of crafting the national budget.

Lacson said that local officials should include the establishment of schools – including the Lyceum of Capas – in their local development plans, so this will be considered in the proposed national budget for next year.

“It would be better that they include the schools in their local development plans, since the crafting of the national budget starts with the local government units. The consolidated local development plans will then be sent eventually to the national government level,” he advised Mayor Roseller “Boots” Rodriguez and Vice Mayor Alex Espinosa in Filipino, during a program here.

Ping Lacson: EO Strengthening Regional Development Councils to Make Budget More Responsive

An executive order strengthening the Regional Development Councils can be a big help in making the yearly budget more responsive to the needs and priorities of local government units, former Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson said Monday.

Lacson said Executive Order 82, which aims to accelerate socio-economic development in all regions by adding agencies as new members, aligns with his advocacy for the equitable distribution of funds in the national budget, especially to the local government units (LGUs).

“I am glad President Marcos signed EO 82, strengthening the RDC and adding its membership to 18 agencies,” he said in Filipino, in an interview on DZBB’s “Ikaw Na Ba? The Senatorial Interviews.”

“Who else would know better the needs and priorities of constituents but the local government units?” he added.

Ping Lacson to Help Mindoro Realize Potential as Port, Agri Hub

SANTA CRUZ, OCCIDENTAL MINDORO – During his visit here on Saturday, former Senator Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson broached the idea that should he earn a Senate seat, he intends to help Occidental Mindoro realize its potential as a premier port and as an agricultural hub in the country, using lessons from the province’s history.

Lacson said Occidental Mindoro – whose strategic economic potential was seen several centuries ago – could become a center for trade like Singapore, if it is given the proper road network and other development projects.
