TRECE MARTIRES, Cavite – Former Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson hopes the new head of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) will speed up the government’s digitalization efforts, to finally minimize if not eradicate corruption.
Lacson stressed the need for new DICT Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda to ensure the digitalization not only of government-to-government transactions but also of transactions between government and private institutions.
“This is my advocacy, to minimize corruption through full digitalization. It would be great if the new DICT secretary will do his duty to speed up the digitalization of all government transactions,” he said in Filipino at the press conference of the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate here.
“This should include not just transactions between government agencies, but also those between government and the private sector,” he added.
