CATARMAN, Northern Samar – Digitalization and a data-driven approach will be prioritized in the government’s efforts to bring development to areas cleared of the New People’s Army (NPA), under the presidency of Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson.
Lacson said the government cannot afford to implement poorly the development of cleared barangays, lest disgruntled residents join the NPAs again.
Kakapiraso lang (The NTF-ELCAC had a very good concept and objective. But the problem was in the implementation. It should have carried out the development projects in barangays cleared of NPAs but it did not quite do so),” Lacson said at a press conference here Sunday.
“My presidency promises the complete investment and implementation of our National Broadband Program to improve the internet speed and affordability all over our country,” saad ni Lacson sa kanyang pagdalo sa Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry 47th Philippine Business Conference and Expo.
Should he win the presidential election in 2022, Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson will prioritize digitalization for the Philippines to recover from the effects of the pandemic – and to mitigate the impact of similar crises in the future.
Lacson said the first step will be the full implementation of the National Broadband Program that will be the basis of a secure and reliable information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure system.

BACOLOD City – Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson on Saturday pushed for the digitalization of government processes to curb the smuggling of sugar and other agricultural products.
Lacson said only a full automation of processes in government agencies can address smuggling, one of the most serious plagues of the sugar industry in this province.
Kasama sa program natin ang full digitalization (The sugar industry’s biggest enemy is smuggling. It can be solved with full digitalization of government processes, which is part of our program),” he said in an interview with DYHB radio.
