Lacson to Filipinos: Launch Silent Revolution on May 9

CARMONA, Cavite – On May 9, let us launch a silent revolution – not the kind our forefathers launched against foreign invaders and conquerors, but a silent one using our pens to shade the names of our country’s next leaders.

This was independent presidential bet Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson’s invitation to Filipino voters Friday evening at his and vice presidential bet Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III’s miting de avance attended by some 50,000 cheering people at the Verdant Square here.

I am inviting you to take part in a revolution. Not the revolution that our forefathers waged against conquerors and invaders. This is a silent revolution where we will use our pens to shade the names of deserving leaders in our ballots),” he said.

Lacson said the Filipino people cannot afford to choose the wrong leaders especially with the humongous problems facing the country.

He added choosing the wrong leaders such as thieves or incompetents may lead to the next generation of Filipinos losing hope in their country.

Sa kanila po natin ialay ang ating boto (I repeat my appeal to our fellow Filipinos. On May 9, Monday, when we go to the polling precincts to choose our leaders, let us not choose the wrong ones. The lives of our children and our children’s children depends on our choice. Let us dedicate our votes to them),” he said.

May pag-asa ang bawa’t sulok sa ating bansa basta pumili tayo ng tama (Let us not allow our youths and the next generation to lose hope in our country. There is hope in the Philippines, there is hope in Carmona, there is hope in Cavite. There is always hope so long as we choose the right leaders),” he added.

Lacson reiterated he and Sotto have the experience and track record to provide Filipinos with the leadership they badly need, and to address the problems hounding the Philippines.

He likewise urged voters to elect their senatorial bets Minguita Padilla, Guillermo Eleazar, Emmanuel “Manny” Pinol, JV Ejercito and Gregorio Honasan II.

For his part, Sotto said May 9 is the chance for much-needed hope for Filipinos. “Pagkakataon na natin ito, Pilipinas (This is our chance, Philippines)!” he said.
