Maybe it’s time for the AFP-DND leadership to review their policy on contracting private civilian vessels in future regular resupply missions in Ayungin Shoal and put to test the efficacy of the MDT’s protective shield against China’s aggression.

That said, removing BRP Sierra Madre, or decommissioning it as a Philippine Navy shipremoving BRP Sierra Madre, or decommissioning it as a Philippine Navy ship is tantamount to giving up on Ayungin Shoal, etc., thus surrendering our territorial integrity on a silver platter. Remember the “attack on public vessel” provision in the MDT?
