On Calamity Funds in Carina’s Aftermath

Do not forget the 5% that LGUs appropriate annually to their local calamity fund (RA 10121) which they sparingly use. There could be tens of billions in their coffers combined.

That being said, unaffected LGUs may extend their hands to assist.

With due respect, hindi DRRMF ang nire-refer ko kundi ang local calamity fund. After 5 years, kung hindi nagamit ng LGU’s ang kanilang calamity fund, the same may be transferred to their general fund and utilized for other purposes.
