Ping Lacson Appeals to Lawmakers: Let Mandated Agencies Implement Projects

Allow the mandated agencies to implement government projects.

This was the appeal of former Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson to lawmakers on Tuesday, as he said lawmakers can better help ensure the proper implementation of projects by exercising their power of oversight.

“We have the mandate of oversight. How can we exercise it if some of us interfere in the implementation of projects, which is not our job?” he said in Filipino at a press conference of the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate in Pasay City.

Ping Lacson to Re-file Anti-Political Dynasty Bill

Should he earn a seat in the Senate this May, former Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson will re-file a bill that will fulfill the Constitution’s provision against political dynasties.

Lacson said he hopes his bill, which defines the degree of affinity or consanguinity that will be covered by the measure, will finally get much-needed support in both houses of Congress.

“I hope that when I return to the Senate and re-file this bill, it will get support not just from the Upper House but also from the Lower House, so we can finally address the problem,” he said in Filipino in a press conference of the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate in Pasay City Tuesday.

Ping Lacson: Full Gov’t Digitalization Key to Stopping Crime, Corruption

The full digitalization of the government – including the removal of human intervention in government processes – holds the key to finally stop crime and corruption, former Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson stressed Tuesday.

Lacson noted that while several laws had been passed to end corruption – including those authored or sponsored by him – these could not be implemented because of such “human intervention.”

“I am glad with the President’s pronouncement that we are aiming for full digitalization of the government. Once we achieve this, we will have not only faster transactions but also less graft and corruption because there is no human intervention and everything is online,” he said in Filipino at a press conference of the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate in Pasay City.

Ping Lacson’s Speech at Alyansa Rally in Iloilo

Maayong hapon, Iloilo!

Ping Lacson’s Speech at Kickoff Rally for Alyansa Senatorial Candidates
