Lacson Pities Disgraced Ex-Senate President, Hopes His Rants Won’t Spiral into Complete Meltdown – or Worse

Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson voiced hopes on Saturday that the rants of disgraced ex-Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano – especially on his Facebook Live – would not spiral into a full-blown meltdown, or worse.

Lacson debunked Cayetano’s latest allegations as he noted that Cayetano’s increasingly baseless and erratic outbursts in recent days reflect a “quicksand mentality” and should no longer be taken seriously.

“Kawawa naman. Kung anu-ano na sinasabi. Parang malapit nang bumigay. Sana hindi matuluyang mag meltdown. Ipagdasal natin na huwag makaisip magpatiwakal (I pity him. He’s now saying all sorts of things. It seems he’s about to break down. I hope it doesn’t lead to a full meltdown. Let’s pray suicide doesn’t cross his mind),” he said in a post on X.

Ping: Tiwala Maibabalik Kung ‘Wang-wang’ Sama-Sama Nating Lipulin

“No one wants to be stuck in traffic while heading for school or work, much less see the so-called privileged few zip past them in cars with wang-wangs blaring. In some cases, the passengers of the vehicles with wang-wang are not even the government officials authorized to use such items. But we can do something about it instead of feeling helpless,” paliwanag ni Lacson.

Lacson: Collective Action vs ‘Wang-wang’ Needed to Restore Trust

A collective implementation of the ban on “wang-wang” (vehicle sirens) can be a key to restoring trust not only in government but also among citizens, Sen. Panfilo M. Lacson said Monday.

Lacson said it is not only the Philippine National Police but also the private sector that should be responsible for keeping “wang-wang” off the hands – and vehicles – of unauthorized users.

“No one wants to be stuck in traffic while heading for school or work, much less see the so-called privileged few zip past them in cars with wang-wangs blaring. In some cases, the passengers of the vehicles with wang-wang are not even the government officials authorized to use such items. But we can do something about it instead of feeling helpless,” said Lacson, who headed the PNP from 1999 to 2001.
