Lacson on Senate Majority Unity in Purging 2027 Budget Bill of ‘Pork’: All Means All!

The Senate majority bloc is backing Senate finance committee chairman Jose Victor “JV” Ejercito’s efforts to purge the proposed 2027 national budget of “unwarranted, whimsical, and corruption-prone items,” and “all means all” as far as their scrutiny is concerned, Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson said Sunday.

Lacson said majority bloc members, including himself, support not only removing questionable allocations from the budget bill but also ensuring transparency in the process of crafting it.

Lacson: No Sacred Cows as Senate Goes ‘Gung-Ho’ on 2027 Budget Review, Reforms

No one will be spared scrutiny in the Senate’s review of the proposed 2027 national budget, not even lawmakers close to the President, as senators adopt a “gung-ho” stance in correcting questionable allocations, Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson said Friday.

Lacson said he and his fellow Senate majority bloc members are fully behind Senate finance committee chairman Jose Victor “JV” Ejercito in addressing the red flags in the House-approved version of the budget bill.

Lacson Commends Teodoro for Defending PH Position in WPS; DND Chief Recalls Lacson’s Bar Review Mentorship

Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson on Monday commended Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. for firmly defending the Philippines’ position on the West Philippine Sea (WPS), while Teodoro acknowledged Lacson’s role as one of his advisers during his Bar review.

During a Senate subcommittee hearing on the DND’s 2027 budget, Lacson joined Senate finance committee chairman Jose Victor “JV” Ejercito and Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian in citing Teodoro for standing up to China in recent international fora on the issue.

Lacson also urged DND Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. to look into a possible link between sleeper agents and the potential misuse of the late birth registration system.

Lacson Warns DPWH Secretary of Possible Criminal Liability Over Taguig Project Cover-Up

Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson on Monday warned Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vivencio “Vince” Dizon that any attempt to cover up anomalies in infrastructure projects in Taguig City could expose those involved to possible criminal liability.

Lacson said Dizon should come clean on the red flags found by the DPWH’s own inspection teams that had findings in some 68 infrastructure projects in Taguig – including the slope protection project along Taguig River whose billing photos had geotagged coordinates pointing to Leyte.
