Bilang bahagi ng kanyang “Made in the Philippines” campaign, sinabi ni Sen. Ping Lacson na kabilang sa kanyang uunahin ay ang pagbibigay ng insentibo sa ating shipping industry na ipaprayoridad ang local production at labor, kung sakaling siya ay manalo sa pagka-Pangulo sa Mayo 2022.

Siniguro ni Lacson, na tumatakbo sa pagka-Pangulo sa ilalim ng Partido Reporma, sa publiko na mariin niyang tututulan ang 100-porsyentong foreign ownership ng shipping industry dahil sa banta sa seguridad at food security.

“Let’s incentivize and motivate the local shipping industry. It’s part of our platform of government,” ani Lacson sa isang virtual Kapihan kasama ang mga kinatawan ng shipping industry.

As part of his “Made in the Philippines” campaign, Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson will put a premium on granting incentives to the Philippine shipping industry for prioritizing local production and labor, should he win the May 2022 elections.

Lacson, who is running for President under Partido Reporma, also assured the public he opposes opening the shipping industry to 100-percent foreign ownership, due to concerns on national security and food security problems.

“Let’s incentivize and motivate the local shipping industry. It’s part of our platform of government,” Lacson said in a virtual Kapihan with representatives of the shipping industry.
