Ping Lacson Sets Aside Past, Offers Prayers for Ex-President Arroyo’s Loved Ones

BAGUIO CITY – Former Senator and 2025 senatorial candidate Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson on Wednesday set aside the past and offered prayers for the health and recovery of loved ones of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Lacson said he has long forgiven Mrs. Arroyo and former First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo for what they did to him since he first became a senator in 2001.

“I’m a very forgiving person. All of those who harassed me, I have forgiven them, because that is what my parents taught me,” he said in Filipino, in an interview with DZWT Radyo Totoo, when asked about the matter.

He added he had similarly prayed for the recovery of the then First Gentleman when he had to undergo a medical procedure.

At the time, he said he would still pray for the then First Gentleman’s recovery.

“What more now, when so much time has passed?” Lacson said.

“I may be forgiving but I always remember the act. Still, we must forgive and not hate the person; it is also better if you live without the burden of hating,” he added.

BAGUIO CITY – Itinabi ni dating Senador at 2025 senatorial candidate Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson ang nakaraan at nag-alay ng dasal para sa kalusugan at pagpapagaling ng mga mahal sa buhay ni dating Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Ani Lacson, matagal na niyang pinatawad si Gng. Arroyo at dating First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo sa ginawa nila sa kanya mula noong una siya naging senador noong 2001.

“Very forgiving ako, lahat na umapi sa akin noon pinatawad ko na. Wala na sa akin yan, kasi yan ang turo sa akin ng mga magulang ko, huwag magtanim ng galit sa kapwa tao,” aniya sa panayam sa DZWT Radyo Totoo, nang tinanong siya tungkol dito.

Dagdag ni Lacson, nagdasal na rin siya noon para sa paggaling ng noo’y Unang Ginoo nang kailangan nitong mag-medical procedure.

Sa panahong iyon, diniin ni Lacson na ipagdadasal niya ang kalusugan ng Unang Ginoo.

“Ngayon pa ba na napakatagal ng panahon?” aniya.

“Sabi ko naman, napaka-forgiving ko pero hindi ako nakakalimot… Pero ang tao patawarin mo, huwag mong i-hate; mas maganda wala kang iniipong galit,” dagdag niya.
