On the Signing of the 2025 Budget

Having vetoed only P26.065 billion from the P288-billion “congressional insertions”, mostly in the bicameral conference, the budget for education is still not “assigned the highest budgetary priority” contrary to Article XIV Sec 5(5) of the 1987 Constitution.

Lacson Appeals to AmCham Mindanao Chapter to Help De-Escalate Political Tension

DAVAO CITY – Former Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson appealed to members of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Mindanao to help de-escalate the tension involving President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte.

Lacson, who was a guest speaker before the AmCham Mindanao‘s Annual US Thanksgiving here, said that instead of being entertained by the exchange of harsh words, “we should all do our part to help ease the tension.”

“While the perennial warmongers whose pastime is to make their day complete with their passion for gossip and entertainment be it between showbiz couples or political allies resulting in intense conflict and their eventual irreconcilable separation, the majority of us who are sober and discerning feel sad and concerned how this development could affect the future of our country,” he said.
