Lacson: Ex-Cop’s Conviction for Teens’ 2017 Murders a Grim Lesson for Scalawags in Uniform

The conviction of a former policeman for the brutal killing of two teenagers in 2017, along with the resulting law transferring the training of police recruits to the Philippine National Police (PNP), should help spell the end for “drug-related” torture and murder – and other abuses involving scalawags in uniform.

Former Senator and PNP chief Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson stressed this as he noted the grim lesson from the conviction of former Police Officer 1 Jeffrey Perez should reinforce the improved training for police recruits as provided by Republic Act 11279 – which he sponsored after investigating the case in the Senate.

“A stern lesson from the past has been served to our future policemen. The conviction of ex-PO1 Perez, along with the improved training of police recruits as provided by RA 11279, should drive home the message that there is no room for unfit and erring police officers, a.k.a. ICU Cops – the Inept, Corrupt and Undisciplined,” said Lacson.

Malawakang Internal Cleansing sa Gobyerno, Planong Gawin ni Lacson sa Kanyang Unang 100 Araw

Mas maayos na serbisyo publiko mula sa gobyerno – sa pamamagitan ng malawakang internal cleansing sa hanay nito – ang isa sa mga prayoridad ni Senador Ping Lacson sa kanyang unang 100 araw sa pamumuno sakaling mahalal na Pangulo sa Mayo 2022.

Ito ang siniguro ni Lacson na tumatayong standard-bearer ng Partido Reporma. Aniya, ang naturang paglilinis sa hanay ng gobyerno ay dadaan sa kamay ng batas.

“Ang massive internal cleansing, hindi ito indiscriminate. Base ito sa ebidensya na kung saan may mga kawani ng gobyerno na sa halip na tumulong, nakakaperwisyo pa sa pamamagitan ng katiwalian,” ani Lacson sa kanyang panayam sa DZRH nitong Sabado.

Lacson: Massive Govt Internal Cleansing to Enhance, Not Disrupt, Public Service

Enhanced, not disrupted. This will be the state of public services rendered by the government following a massive internal cleansing in the first 100 days of a Lacson Presidency.

This assurance came from Partido Reporma standard-bearer Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson, who stressed Saturday that the cleansing will be evidence-based and follow the rule of law.

“Ang massive internal cleansing, hindi ito indiscriminate. Base ito sa ebidensya na kung saan may mga kawani ng gobyerno na sa halip na tumulong, nakakaperwisyo pa sa pamamagitan ng katiwalian (Such a massive internal cleansing will not be indiscriminate. It will be based on evidence against public servants who engage in corruption and other wrongdoing instead of helping their fellow Filipinos),” Lacson said in an interview on DZRH on Saturday.

Kakalusin ang Magnanakaw! Internal Cleansing of Government to be Priority Under Lacson Presidency

A stern internal cleansing of the bureaucracy will be a priority of Senator and Partido Reporma Chairman and standard-bearer Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson, should he win the presidential election this May.

Lacson said it is time to purge the bureaucracy of public servants who betray their oath by failing to provide public service – or worse, by engaging in various forms of corruption including bribery and even extortion.

“Kakalusin dapat (We should get rid of them),” he said in an interview on DZME radio Wednesday afternoon, when asked what he would do with misfits in the government, especially those who steal.
