#PingSays: On the Senate’s relocation and the 2nd anniversary of the Mamasapano incident | Jan. 25, 2017

In an ambush interview, Sen. Lacson answers questions on:
– the plan to relocate the Senate
– the Mamasapano incident’s 2nd anniversary

Quotes from the interview:

On the Senate’s relocation:
“We started mulling the idea of moving to a permanent site as far back as 16 years ago. May nangyari ba? Kung maghahanap na naman tayo ng ibang options, ito na ang opportunity kasi nariyan ang BCDA, available ang site, why don’t we just go for it? Right here, right now. Kasi kung maghahanap pa.”
“Laging usapan na lang ng usapan, daan dito pa rin tayo 10 years from now.”

On a new probe body on Mamasapano:
“If the president feels kulang ang ginawang investigation ng (Board of Inquiry), including the investigation conducted by the Senate, that is always his prerogative. If he feels hindi kumpleto ang pag-render ng justice sa naiwan ng SAF 44, that’s his prerogative to create a commission and conduct further investigation.”
“Mas importante ano ang magagawa mo to render justice to those who were killed. And looking forward again, ano ang remedial measures para hindi maulit. Yan ang mas maganda na pag-isipan.”
