ANTIPOLO CITY – Former Senator and 2025 senatorial candidate Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson on Friday called on the Philippine National Police (PNP) to enforce the law against motorists involved in road rage incidents.
Lacson, who headed the PNP from 1999 to 2001, said gun control measures are now very strict especially during the campaign period, because of the Commission on Elections’ gun ban.
“The PNP should be reminded to enforce the laws especially on gun control,” he said in Filipino at the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate’s press conference here.

On the other hand, he said there is no use giving advice to those involved in road rage incidents.
He said those involved in such incidents have no choice but to defend themselves in court.
“Those involved in such incidents must defend themselves in court. It is hard to reason with them if they think that way,” he said.
