GENERAL MARIANO ALVAREZ, Cavite – For championing the cause of local government units, former Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson on Friday got an endorsement for his senatorial bid from a mayor in his home province here.
Mayor Maricel Torres of GMA lauded Lacson for fighting for LGUs and their share of the national budget for development programs through his Budget Reform Advocacy for Village Empowerment (BRAVE).
“Of course, we respect our senator whose BRAVE program gives special attention to the small towns,” Torres said in Filipino at the proclamation rally of Team 1GMA, on the first day of the campaign season for local officials.

She lauded Lacson for recognizing the needs and priorities of small towns and cities like GMA.
Because of this, she said she will support and campaign for Lacson.
“Our senator saw the needs of the smaller towns like GMA. So we will support and campaign for Senator Ping Lacson!” she said.
Lacson has advocated BRAVE, where LGUs get more autonomy and resources, as well as the accompanying accountability, in implementing key development projects, programs and activities.
He noted that billions of pesos in the yearly budget is not used, and could fund development and livelihood projects at the barangay, municipal, and provincial levels.

GENERAL MARIANO ALVAREZ, Cavite – Dahil sa kanyang pagtanggol sa mga maliliit na local government units (LGU), umani ng suporta si dating Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson nitong Biyernes mula sa kanyang home province ng Cavite.
Pinuri ni GMA Mayor Maricel Torres si sa kanyang pakikipaglaban para sa LGU at ang karampatang budget para sa kanilang development programs sa pamamagitan ng Budget Reform Advocacy for Village Empowerment (BRAVE).
“At siyempre po ito hinahangaan kong senador, ang kanyang programang BRAVE, upang ang maliit na bayan mabigyan ng mas espesyal na atensyon,” ani Torres sa proclamation rally ng Team 1GMA, sa unang araw ng campaign season para sa lokal na opisyal.
Nagpasalamat si Torres kay Lacson dahil nakita niya ang pangangailangan at prayoridad ng mga maliliit na bayan tulad ng GMA.
Dahil dito, tiniyak niya ang suporta at pangangampanya para kay Lacson.
“Ang senador na ito na nakakakita ng pangangailangan ng maliliit na bayan tulad ng bayan ng GMA, susuportahan natin ikakampanya natin si Senator Ping Lacson!” aniya.
Sa BRAVE ni Lacson, makakakuha ang LGU ng mas malaking awtonomiya at resources, pati ang pananagutan, sa pagpapatupad ng development projects, programs at activities.
Ani Lacson, bilyon-bilyong piso sa budget ang hindi nagagamit at maaaring gamitin para sa development at livelihood projects sa lebel ng barangay, bayan, at probinsya.
