Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson and his team continued pursuing leads over the weekend in their investigation into the anomalous slope protection and drainage projects in Taguig City, the bailiwick of disgraced ex-Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano, as they seek to bring the probe to its “logical conclusion” and hold those responsible accountable.
Lacson stressed that their efforts are driven not by personal motives but by the need to exact accountability.

On Friday, Lacson said that with the plot thickening and the case strengthening, the investigation has reached the point where it can be described as “SHOOT SA KALDERO.”
In a radio interview Friday evening, he said plunder – a non-bailable offense – may be among the charges that could be filed against those found responsible.
“Kung series of acts tapos P50 million (ang involved), walang ibang mapupuntahan kundi plunder (If it is a series of acts involving at least P50 million, there’s no other way to go but to file plunder charges),” he said in an interview on IBC-DWAN radio.
Lacson also reiterated that the investigation is not about personal conflicts, but about accountability.
“This is not about friendship or personal fights, this is about accountability. Kung walang accountability bakit ko pipilitin (This is not about friendship or personal fights but about accountability. If there is no accountability, why would I push through with the investigation)?” he said.

Binigyang-diin ni Lacson na ang kanilang mga pagsisikap ay hindi inuudyukan ng personal na motibo kundi ng pangangailangang panagutin ang mga dapat managot.

Sa isang panayam sa radyo noong Biyernes ng gabi, sinabi niyang ang plunder — isang kasong hindi maaaring piyansahan — ay maaaring kabilang sa mga kasong isasampa laban sa mga mapatutunayang responsable.

Muli ring iginiit ni Lacson na ang imbestigasyon ay hindi tungkol sa personal na alitan kundi tungkol sa pananagutan.
