Hope for Filipino Youths: Lacson to Ensure Funding for Education, Health

Ensuring enough funding for education and health will be one of senatorial aspirant Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson’s priorities should he earn a new mandate in the Senate.

Lacson said this can be done by tracking down less useful and questionable appropriations in the budget, and realigning them to fund these much-needed programs.

“Such appropriations can be put to good use by becoming seed money. In 2016, I questioned an P8.3-billion allocation involving the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)’s budget for 2017. I introduced an amendment to remove it. During our caucus in the Senate, we agreed to put the amount in the free tertiary education measure that we knew was about to become a law,” he said.

‘Edukasyon Plus’ program ni Ping, Layong Tapusin ang Kahirapan

Isang programang pang-edukasyon ang isinusulong ni Senador Ping Lacson na makapaghihikayat sa nga mahihirap na estudyante na pumasok sa eskwelahan at makapagtapos. Ito aniya ang isang paraan para tapusin ang ilang henerasyon ng kahirapan at makapagpapaganda ng buhay ng kabataang Pinoy.

Sa pamamagitan ng “Edukasyon Plus” program ni Lacson, magbibigay ito ng libreng tuition at monthly allowance na P5,000 sa mga kwalipikadong estudyante sa senior high school (Grades 11 and 12) na kabilang sa internship program ng gobyerno.

“A recent international study shows only 31 percent of Filipino youths aged 15 have a growth mindset, or want to improve their lot in life. The other 69 percent no longer think of such. Unfortunately, able-bodied youth in the Philippines drop out of high school in order to start working and help their family for their daily needs. They don’t see continued schooling as an option,” ani Lacson na tumatayong standard bearer ng Partido Reporma.

Lacson’s ‘Edukasyon Plus’ Program to Break Cycle of Poverty

To break the cycle of poverty that has hounded many Filipino families, Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson is looking to implement an education program that would keep youths in school – and give them a better chance at improving their lot.

Lacson’s “Edukasyon Plus” program intends to provide free tuition, a P5,000 monthly allowance and a government internship program beginning with senior high school students.

“A recent international study shows only 31 percent of Filipino youths aged 15 have a growth mindset, or want to improve their lot in life. The other 69 percent no longer think of such. Unfortunately, able-bodied youth in the Philippines drop out of high school in order to start working and help their family for their daily needs. They don’t see continued schooling as an option,” said Lacson, the standard bearer of Partido Reporma.
