Hindi man nakabisita ang tandem ni independent presidential aspirant Sen. Ping Lacson at vice presidential bet niyang si Senate President Tito Sotto sa Iloilo bunsod ng masamang panahon, siniguro naman ng kanilang mga taga-suporta na ramdam ang kanilang presensya sa lugar upang magbigay ng tulong.
Sama-sama silang nag-organisa ng relief operations sa Iloilo City at Estancia na isa sa mga bayan sa Iloilo na lubhang naapektuhan ng pagbaha dulot ng Tropical Cyclone Agaton.

Bad weather conditions may have prevented independent presidential aspirant Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson and his vice presidential bet Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III from visiting a flood-affected area in Iloilo, but their supporters made sure their presence is felt there.
Lacson and Sotto’s supporters, taking a cue from their idols, chipped in to mount relief operations in Estancia – one of the towns in Iloilo affected by floods brought by Tropical Cyclone Agaton – and in Iloilo City. The relief operations were organized in one day.

Acting on information and a call for assistance from Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson, the Philippine Coast Guard is sending rubber boats and other assets to help residents affected by floods particularly along the highway between Iloilo and Roxas City in Capiz.
Lacson called former Coast Guard Commandant retired Vice Admiral Edmund Tan and informed him of the situation, after receiving updates from Iloilo early Tuesday.
Tan replied he has informed incumbent Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Artemio Abu (Philippine Military Academy Class 1992), and that Abu “readily agreed” and will instruct the Coast Guard in the area to “act accordingly.”
