If you have watched the award-winning TV series, House of Cards, you must have come across Frank Underwoodโ€™sย statement on his Rule on Ruthlessness and I quote – โ€œThe road to power is paved with hypocrisy … and casualties.โ€

Subliminally, one can easily draw parallelism in that quote I just mentioned with the turn of events in the killing of Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa and fellow detainee Raul Yap, which your Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs concluded, and which the Senate unanimously affirmed as premeditated and with grave abuse of authority on the part of CIDG Region 8 operatives.
