Ping Lacson Helps Capas Local Officials’ Efforts to Boost Education Access

CAPAS, Tarlac – Former Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson on Wednesday helped local officials of this municipality to boost access to education by doing their part in the process of crafting the national budget.

Lacson said that local officials should include the establishment of schools – including the Lyceum of Capas – in their local development plans, so this will be considered in the proposed national budget for next year.

“It would be better that they include the schools in their local development plans, since the crafting of the national budget starts with the local government units. The consolidated local development plans will then be sent eventually to the national government level,” he advised Mayor Roseller “Boots” Rodriguez and Vice Mayor Alex Espinosa in Filipino, during a program here.

Ping Lacson to Help Mindoro Realize Potential as Port, Agri Hub

SANTA CRUZ, OCCIDENTAL MINDORO – During his visit here on Saturday, former Senator Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson broached the idea that should he earn a Senate seat, he intends to help Occidental Mindoro realize its potential as a premier port and as an agricultural hub in the country, using lessons from the province’s history.

Lacson said Occidental Mindoro – whose strategic economic potential was seen several centuries ago – could become a center for trade like Singapore, if it is given the proper road network and other development projects.

Tough and reassuring. This was how former Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson described the reply of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to China’s urging the Philippines to return the Typhon missile system to the United States.

Lacson noted President Marcos’ stance to return the Typhon missiles if China stopped harassing Filipinos in the West Philippine Sea at least left some space for possible talks between the two countries.

But Lacson also reiterated his call for the Philippines and its allies to maintain a “balance of power” in the West Philippine Sea to deter aggressive actions from China.
