On the Prospect of Three Dutertes Running for Senator in 2025

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Like the father, the daughter believes that part of wise and smart politics is to confuse and keep them guessing; create an issue that evokes discourse thus accomplishing awareness while getting a glimpse of the pulse of the electorate. That said, I don’t think there is any firm decision made by any of the three Dutertes.

Senate 2025: Three Duterte’s, three Tulfo’s, two Villar’s, two Cayetano’s, two Ejercito-Estrada’s, and the list goes on… because it is what it is – by the people, for the people, of the people.

On Ex-DOH Sec. Duque’s Claim that Former President Duterte Ordered Transfer of P47.6B Covid Funds to PS-DBM

Image from Presidential Communications Office

Hindi lang napakalaki kundi complicated ang implication ng pahayag ni ex-DOH Sec. Francisco Duque III lalo na sa legal na usapin.

Dapat ay linawin niya kung iniutos arbitrarily ni former President Rodrigo Duterte or he merely acted on the recommendation of DOH, PhilHealth or IATF sa pag-transfer ng P47 bilyon sa PS-DBM.

That being said, may isinampa nang kaso ang Ombudsman in relation to the Pharmally case na inimbestigahan namin noon sa Senado. Ginawa lang ba ni Duque ito para pangdepensa sa sarili niya? Hindi naman kasi binanggit ni Duque noon ang pagdawit niya ngayon kay FPRRD.

On the PNP’s No-Ceasefire Stance on the NPA

I support the PNP on this. The CPP/NPA is almost a spent force – thanks to the efforts of former President Rodrigo Duterte and the security forces during his term as president.

We should not squander those gains by giving them – already designated as a terrorist group – another breathing space to regroup and reconsolidate their strength to fight and overthrow the duly constituted authority which is their ONLY agenda in the first place.

If they surrender peacefully and unconditionally, they should be treated humanely and justly as fellow Filipinos. Otherwise, government should remain hard on them.
