Lacson Pities Disgraced Ex-Senate President, Hopes His Rants Won’t Spiral into Complete Meltdown – or Worse

Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson voiced hopes on Saturday that the rants of disgraced ex-Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano – especially on his Facebook Live – would not spiral into a full-blown meltdown, or worse.

Lacson debunked Cayetano’s latest allegations as he noted that Cayetano’s increasingly baseless and erratic outbursts in recent days reflect a “quicksand mentality” and should no longer be taken seriously.

“Kawawa naman. Kung anu-ano na sinasabi. Parang malapit nang bumigay. Sana hindi matuluyang mag meltdown. Ipagdasal natin na huwag makaisip magpatiwakal (I pity him. He’s now saying all sorts of things. It seems he’s about to break down. I hope it doesn’t lead to a full meltdown. Let’s pray suicide doesn’t cross his mind),” he said in a post on X.

Lacson Thanks Sen. Erwin Tulfo for Upholding Duty over Peer Pressure in Disclosing Truth behind Flood Control Mess

Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson on Saturday lauded Sen. Erwin Tulfo for upholding his duty to help disclose the truth behind the anomalies behind defective and ghost flood control projects, and for standing firm against peer pressure to tolerate wrongdoing.

Lacson cited Tulfo’s confirmation in a podcast interview that he signed the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee’s partial report on the flood control scandal despite pressure from some fellow senators.

“Thank you Sen. Erwin for speaking the truth to confirm what I had thought all along was the real reason – bakit inamag at tuluyan nang napanis ang BRC partial report. Quo vadis, Philippine Senate (Thank you Sen. Erwin for speaking the truth to confirm what I had thought all along was the real reason – why the partial report was left to go stale and become spoiled. Where do you go from here, Philippine Senate)?” Lacson, who chaired the panel when it came out with the partial report, said in a post on X.
