Lacson: 2 DPWH Bulacan Officials Lost At Least P300M Each in Casino Gambling

At least two Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials in Bulacan squandered more than P300 million each in casino gambling, Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson bared Monday.

During the interpellation of his Aug. 20 privilege speech on substandard and ghost flood control projects, Lacson said he has given advance information of these two officials to new DPWH head Vince Dizon.

“The two of them, as per my information, used aliases. They hid their true identities, and used fictitious names,” Lacson said. He said one is a district engineer and another is a minor functionary.

“So you can just imagine the enormity of the corruption that is going on. This is only in Bulacan,” he added. He said he got hold of the aliases they used, so authorities can identify them or get the records of their winnings and losses.

Flooded Gates of Corruption: Privilege Speech on Flood Control Projects

Mr. President, my distinguished colleagues, I rise on a matter of personal and collective privilege — to uncover schemes surrounding a systemic problem in our country – one that submerges our nation not just in flood waters, but in depths of corruption.

In the course of our research and investigation, we encountered several words – their meanings, we could not find in the dictionary. So we looked somewhere else. Alas! We found them – in the ‘corruptionary’.

We have a saying: A leaky roof today is a ruined home tomorrow.

Fortunately, President Bongbong Marcos himself has taken decisive steps to plug the leaky roof as a determined follow-through on his striking rebuke and appeal to conscience with his resounding admonition: “Mahiya naman kayo!”.

Ping Lacson’s Speech at Alyansa Rally in Malolos, Bulacan

Ping Lacson Draws Inspiration from Heroes in Cavite, Bulacan

SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan – Should he earn a seat in the Senate in May, former Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson will draw inspiration anew from our national heroes from Bulacan and from Cavite.

In his speech at the rally of the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate here, Lacson said both Bulacan and his native Cavite have their share of heroes in our rich history.

“We who have served and are serving here, we get inspiration and motivation from our heroes in Bulacan and Cavite. And out of our love for our country, we wish to serve well to the best of our ability,” he said in Filipino.

Ping Lacson’s Speech at Alyansa Rally in Bulacan

Emilio Aguinaldo, Gen. Mariano Alvarez, at Gen. Mariano Trias.
